Planning a wedding at The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park is something truly special.
Located In the heart of downtown El Paso, this historic venue offers a setting that feels both timeless and very personal.
There’s something unique about this hotel, either it is the architecture, the light, the sense of history... that allows moments to happen naturally, without being forced.
From the Henry Troast ballroom to the Perla Bar rooftop overlooking the city, each space has its own beauty. It allows couples to shape their day in a way that feels very natural, whether that’s something more intimate, or a celebration surrounded by everyone they love.
What stands out most in the ballroom is how luminous is the space in the afternoon. The large windows and architectural details that add depth without distraction. It’s the kind of place where the environment supports the moment, rather than taking it over.
Multiple options inside and outside the hotel to take photos.
The lobby, the Arches, the rooftop, the mezzanine, the elevators, the library nook, the chimney area ... we have plenty of areas to take beautiful wedding portraits.
What makes The Plaza especially meaningful for photography is the balance it offers.
Having photographed multiple weddings at The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, I’ve come to understand both the strengths of the space and how to work thoughtfully within its limitations.
There are elegant indoor spaces for timeless portraits, clean, composed, and quietly powerful. And just outside, downtown El Paso brings texture and movement, adding contrast without taking away from what matters.
The suites are not very large, but the natural light is beautiful, making it a great location for the bride to get ready.
Excellent location for a street photography portrait and capturing the city lights.
Multiple spots inside the hotel to capture this moment privately.
My favorite is on the second floor, by the mezzanine, where you will have privacy and gorgeous decor around you.
The south terrace on 17th floor offers limited space with limited angles, but the photos will still be awesome!
Quick note: the best orientation for your ceremony is to have the altar on the Paso Del Norte side.
The north terrace has a good sunset view, the issue is where you’d want to be is usually taken with people chilling.
The Henri Troast ballroom has a small dance floor, so fewer chances to snag those awesome, energetic guest pics.

If you’re also considering outdoor venues, Grace Gardens offers a very different atmosphere, more open, natural, and quietly intimate.

Kimberly and Andrew's wedding is a beautiful example of how many different experiences The Plaza can hold in one day, from getting ready with family and a quiet first look to a ceremony overlooking downtown El Paso and a full ballroom celebration.

Gabriela and Nick’s engagement session shows a different side of The Plaza Hotel, from the library and elevators to the arches at La Perla Bar, using the hotel’s architecture for portraits that feel polished while still keeping the connection between them at the center.
The surrounding streets add a beautiful contrast to the elegance of the hotel.
Photos with the hotel in the back are a must.
here are a few things to keep in mind:
The suites are not very large, if you are having more than 4 bridesmaids, I would highly recommend you rent the Conrad room, your getting ready photos will look so much better as you will have room around you.
Privacy is key for natural reactions to happen, this hotel has many spaces that we can use, This is a great venue for first looks.
The orientation of the ceremony space is very important and will impact your photos greatly. I highly recommend we discussed this point together before you make final decisions.
Weddings at The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park have a way of feeling both grand and intimate at the same time.
