A Rustic Engagement Session in Ruidoso, New Mexico
Sometimes the unexpected is where the magic is. As Rachel and Roderick start their engagement session in Ruidoso, we had found just that. I knew this rustic inspired photoshoot was going to be fun. I had hay in one hand and Mickey ears in the other.
We began our rustic Engagement session in Ruidoso, New Mexico, however along the way, we found a hidden gem. Tucked away, I knew the field was perfect for the couple’s desire to create a rustic ambiance. We started on a small dirt road, framed by the beautiful greenery, and calm lake. Not forced or stiff, I was able to catch them being authentically them.
Not far from the first location, I saw the small, seemingly unused barn. The texture of the timeworn wood against Rachel’s soft orange dress contrasted perfectly. They wanted rustic, and this was, without a doubt, rustic. I placed their carefully selected props of hay and personalized letters for the finishing touch. As you can see, subtle props are a great way to add to your photos without overwhelming the entire picture!
The day was ending. I knew I had to take advantage of the amazing landscape. The sky was changing. Rachel and Roderick stood under a blanket of clouds, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Their sweet and loving embraces ended a beautiful engagement session.

Love pictures. My son is senior st capitan high school. Did not want senior picture but is wishing he had done a cue of rustic ones. Do u work in ruidoso area. Could you get a small outdoor barn or rustic setting. He loves industrial also.
